An Appointment With Death – Jer 47
God cares about all people. He knows all about them. He is aware of their lives, their actions, and their sin. He wants them all to be saved and to escape the consequences of and judgment on their sin.
He warned Judah, then Egypt, and now Philistia. They were going to be caught between Egypt and Babylon. Death and destruction were coming. They had an appointment with God’s destroying sword (v.6-7).
So the message for them was to repent and to turn to the Lord. They are warned before it happened. And that is the message for all people and one that we should give to all people.
God is not willing that any should perish; He wants all men to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). He has no pleasure in the death of the wicked; He wants them to turn and live (Ezekiel 33:11).
Have you listened to the warning? Are you warning others? Judgment is coming for all, but salvation is still available.
