Being Justified By Faith – Romans 5
“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:” — Romans 5:1
It doesn’t get any better than Romans 5! This chapter contains the results of being justified by faith in Jesus Christ. Here are some of the incredible blessings:
- Peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (v.1). We can know that the debt of our sin is paid for and we will never face God’s wrath for our sin (see v.9).
- Access by faith into this grace wherein we stand (v.2). God’s grace gives us a new standing/position. We are forever united to Christ because of God’s grace. This gives us a new identity. It also gives us new access into grace to live holy lives, to serve the Lord, and to become more and more like Jesus Christ in our daily living.
- Hope in the glory of God (v.2). The believer can rejoice because of the hope/confidence he has of sharing in the glory of God. All who believe in Christ are predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son (Rom 8:29). And they will receive a glorified body one day (Rom 8:30).
- Glorying in tribulation (v.3-5). Not only does the believer know they are now at peace with God, not only do they have access to God’s grace and hope in future glory, but the believer also can glory in present tribulation. The believer can see that tribulation is just part of God’s process of patience and experience which leads to future hope and confidence. The Holy Ghost is in us to affirm the love of God and the power of God to help us through trials and tribulations.
So, if you are justified by faith, then rejoice in the peace, access, hope, and glory God has given you! If you are not, then you are really missing out. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ today and be saved!
