Come; For Christ Is Coming – Revelation 22
‘And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.’ — Revelation 22:12
Many times in the book of Revelation, Christ states that He is coming quickly (1:7; 2:16; 22:7; 22:10; 22:12; 22:20). It has now been nearly 2000 years since these words were spoken to John, and the return of Christ is nearer than it has ever been. The coming of Christ will be quick and it will be sudden. When the rapture takes places, the other end-time events will all happy very rapidly.
As a result of the coming of Christ, we should heed His invitation to come to Him. The coming of Christ to earth should motivate the coming of men to Christ. Notice the following verse right at the end of Revelation:
‘And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.’ — Revelation 22:17
God wants people to come to Him. The church, the bride of Christ, wants people to come to Christ. Whosoever will is welcome to come to Christ and drink of the water of life freely.
What a blessing to know that before Christ comes He is inviting all men to come to Him, to be saved, to be given life, and to escape the impending wrath that will be poured out on this earth! Come to Him and drink and be saved! Don’t delay because He is coming quickly (Rev 22:20).
