Forged in Affliction (Exodus 1)
Exodus 1:12 12 But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel.
The nation of Israel was forged in the fires of great suffering and trial. God had big plans for them, but those plans began in the most unconventional way. They began with bondage, rigour, and hardship. The more they prospered, the more they were oppressed, and in turn they prospered even more.
All this difficulty prepared them to desire freedom from their oppressors. It also developed a strength that would have sustained them to enter the land of Promise had they obeyed.
Certainly, we should be able to realize that strength of character, strong faith, and endurance are the result of difficulty not ease. And when God allows us to suffer and be oppressed, it may not be what we want but what we need to prepare us for what God has for us.
As you face the trial, have faith that God is forming you into the image of His Son so that You can bring Him more glory and honour.
