Laying Our Sin on Him! – Isa 53
Blame-shifting. It’s what we tend to do. Yet, God’s servant, the Messiah, Jesus Christ, took our blame and our sin on Himself.
What a fascinating and mind-blowing truth! What an incredible chapter that describes this very thing – Isaiah 53!
As v.1 says, it truly is an unbelievable report! That such a humble and lowly man was the eternal God chosen to be rejected of men, a man of sorrows, the one who would be stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted!
He was wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities. The Lord laid on Him the iniquity of us all!
May God open our eyes to who He was and what He did. May He be satisfied with how many are justified by His salvation (53:11). May He be exalted and glorified for all He did (53:12). And may all nations realise He died to save them (52:15).
