Salvation to Our God – Revelation 7
‘And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.’ — Revelation 7:10
In the midst of intense judgment from God in Revelation, there are scenes of incredible salvation as well. We notice this first in Revelation 5:9-10 where the 24 elders praise God for saving them by His blood out of every kindred, tongue, people, and nation.
Then in Revelation 7, we read of those who are able to stand in the day of the Lamb’s wrath and of those who are saved out of great tribulation. Revelation 7:1-8 tells of 144,000 Israelites being sealed in the midst of the tribulation. These Jews were protected from the judgment that takes place in the tribulation.
Also, in Revelation 7:9-17, we read of a great multitude that can not be numbered. This multitude comes from all nations, kindreds, people, and tongues. They say with a loud voice, ‘Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb’ (v.10). These are believers from all over the world who are saved through faith in Christ during the suffering of the great tribulation.
What this teaches us is that just as God has saved many and is saving many, so He will save many in the tribulation in the future. God is a saving God. He wants all to come to repentance. And He will save all who come to Him!
