February 2023 Update
Four New Missionary Families On the Field – Despite travel complications caused by COVID-19, most countries are now quite open to international travel and most Vision Baptist Missions (VBM) missionaries who were delayed have now left for the field. Since the first of the year, VBM has been privileged to see four new missionary families arrive on the fields of Taiwan, Honduras, and Indonesia. We’re so excited that God is continuing to allow us to help local churches send their missionaries around the world to preach the gospel and plant churches. Please pray for these new missionary families as they set up and begin learning the language and culture.
Missionaries Back on Furlough – Recently two VBM missionary families have come back on furlough. When they do, we have the opportunity to meet with them and help them “debrief” and evaluate what they need to do to prepare to go back and be even more effective on their next term. Also, please pray for a couple of our missionaries who have had to come home unexpectedly for a death in their immediate family.
Earthquake in Turkey – By now you have probably heard about the terrible earthquake in Turkey that has claimed the lives of over 35,000 people. Missionary Brady Van Winkle is partnering with churches in the area to help provide relief and a gospel witness to those in need. If you’d like to help with this special need, you can mark your donation “Van Winkle Earthquake Relief” and send it to Vision Baptist Missions (PO Box 647, Dawsonville, GA 30534).
Travels to South America – At the end of February, Teri and I along with VBM President Jeff Bush and his wife Mindy will travel to Colombia, South America for the VBM Latin America Regional Conference. At the conference, we will have the privilege to fellowship with missionaries from all over Latin America and seek to encourage and equip them in their service for the Lord. Please pray that we can be a blessing!
Travels to West Africa – Ever since our time in London, I have always longed to visit West Africa. At the beginning of March, I have the privilege to take a trip to visit some of our missionaries in Nigeria and Burkina Faso with a brief layover in Togo. Again, please pray that the Lord will use me to be a blessing.
Thank You – Thank you so much for your faithful partnership with our family. We are so privileged to represent your church in the cause of world evangelism.
