February Prayer Letter
Dear Pastors and Praying Friends,
We had a very nice time over Christmas with Teri’s parents here for about ten days. We enjoyed spending time with them and having their help in the ministry as well.
From December 30 – January 1 we had our first Winter Youth Retreat. The two days were filled with hiking, games, preaching, passing out tracts, great food, and team competitions. All the teenagers had a great time.
On January 10 we took 6 of our teenagers out for a meal to congratulate them on reading the New Testament completely through last year. This year, we are challenging them to read through the whole Bible. Please pray that the seeds sown in the lives of the young people will bring forth fruit. Pray for God to raise up a band of mighty men and women whose hearts the Lord has touched.
God was very good to us last month. Financially, it was probably one of the tightest months we have ever had, yet the Lord was so faithful to provide what we needed. We did have to empty out our escrow account, but the money in the account combined with the other ways God provided met every need that we had. Praise the Lord!
We had been praying and looking for a place to hold meetings in the Catholic area of our city. We tried probably 15 different community centers, schools and other buildings, but none worked out for various reasons. We are going to continue evangelizing that area and holding the meetings in our current building. In July, the lease on our current building expires, so we will have to make some kind of decision about where we should go. Please pray for God to give us wisdom concerning our building. Pray that we can find the building that will be most effective for ministry here and that it will be something that the church can afford to rent.
We have just ordered 10,000 new brochures for the church. We are also planning to order another 5-10,000 leaflets in March to invite people to the church, give them the gospel and let them know about some special events that we are having at the church.
Since the first of the year, we have had a few new folks start coming to the church and are getting involved. We are so encouraged and excited about what the Lord is doing and is going to do. Thank you so much for praying for us, supporting us and communicating with us. Your faithfulness and generosity is absolutely amazing! May God richly bless you for it and add much fruit to your account.
