Furlough Update – September 21, 2012
We have had a good second week in the USA. On last Wednesday, we drove up to Greenville, SC to give an update at Zion Hill Baptist Church, one of our faithful supporters. Then on Thursday through Sunday morning, we were at our home church, Vision Baptist in Alpharetta, GA for their missions conference. Sunday night, we gave an update at New Life Baptist Church in Dalton, GA. It was exciting to be at all three church that have been faithfully supporting us for many years. They were very kind and generous to us. It was exciting to see how God has been blessing and growing these church over the last several years.
On Monday morning, we went to the annual conference of our mission board, Macedonia World Baptist Missions. It was great to catch up with the great folks there and several missionaries who we were on deputation with and are now back on furlough. Monday night, we drove down to Mobile, AL to spend the week with Teri’s parents. We are all really enjoying spending time with them and slowing down a bit. Things have been very busy with meetings, getting things set up, and adjustments since we arrived in the USA.
I am very encouraged to hear from the men at Northwest Baptist Church about how our attendances have not dipped at all since we left, about visitors come to the church, and about people stepping up to volunteer and serve in the church. I am so thankful for Sam and James leadership at the church.
On Saturday, we head back up to Atlanta, and then we will have meetings in Cleveland, GA on Sunday morning and Toccoa, GA on Sunday night. Thank you for praying for our safety. The Lord has been very good to us.
