January 2022 Update
Family Visit – We enjoyed having Travis’ parents visit us for several weeks last month. They were a real blessing to us, and we made many good memories together. It was great to travel with my parents back to Northern Ireland for a quick visit to see the folks of Derry Baptist Fellowship. Like many people, we dealt with some illness at the start of December, but we praise the Lord that we are all feeling much better.
Christmas Evangelism – Christmas is a very good opportunity to give the gospel in England. We enjoyed hosting several carol services in Downham and Colchester, and the Lord blessed with several unbelievers attending the services. Please pray for the gospel seeds that were sown to bring forth fruit in the months ahead.
Vision Baptist Missions – As I shared with you in my October 2022 letter, I was asked to serve as the General Director for Vision Baptist Missions. I’m enjoying serving in this capacity remotely until August 2022 when we plan to move back to America to take up the role full-time. Throughout the week, I’m privileged to talk with our missionaries and directors around the world. This last month, we had a new missionary couple, Jacob and Christen Clower from Woodlawn Baptist Church in Lenoir City, Tennesee, join the board as church-planters to Mozambique. Please pray for them as they start deputation.
$21,444 Provided! – Last month, we announced a building fund for Downham Baptist Church. We decided to combine what we raise from inside the church and from outside the church, so the total amount we are hoping to raise by July 1, 2022 is $175,000. So far, the Lord has provided $21,444! We are very excited about this and know that the Lord is able to do “exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.” We would be very grateful if you or your church might consider giving a special offering toward this project. Mark all donations “London Building Fund.” Contact us for more details or go to travissnode.com/projects/downham.
