July 2024 Update
June 30, 2024, marked the twentieth anniversary of our arrival in the United Kingdom as missionaries. What a joy to be back in the UK last month visiting the churches we started and spending the weekend at Derry Baptist Fellowship! I cannot tell you how wonderful it is to see how the Lord has given the increase to the planting we did many years ago and the watering that others have done since we left. Just as He promised, the Lord continues to build His church, and we praise Him for it!
A mission team from Harvest Baptist in Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania accompanied me on the trip. While on the trip, we were able to help four churches with evangelism, see the great need for the gospel in the UK, and hopefully be an encouragement. Please pray for the seeds that were sown.
At Vision Baptist Missions, we hosted two “World’s Cheapest Mission Trips” this summer with nearly 50 people coming to learn about various world religions and share the gospel in the multicultural city of Atlanta, GA! We have one more WCMT on July 23-26 (Visit visionmissions.com/wcmt for details). Please pray for God to use these trips to raise up more laborers!
The remodeling project for a new guy’s dormitory is almost complete. This dorm will allow us to house up to twenty-four students on campus! Praise the Lord for generous donations of over $50,000 that fully paid for the project!
We continue to praise the Lord for the opportunity to help train and send missionaries all around the world. Recently, we welcomed home from the mission field missionaries and interns to Taiwan, Argentina, Turkey, and South Africa. What a joy to hear of the Lord’s blessings on their ministries and to help them prepare to return to continue preaching the gospel and starting churches. We closed out the month with a very helpful marriage retreat with Dr. David Teis from Liberty Baptist Church in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dr. Teis planted the church there about 50 years ago and saw the Lord bless the work and the raising of his family in a challenging culture. The truths he shared were a great help and blessing to all the missionaries who attended.
