November 2020 Update
After being closed for several months, Downham Baptist Church in London was able to begin having public worship services again. Despite having to wear masks and being unable to sing in the services, we enjoyed seven weeks of services together. During that period, we had several new people start coming to the church, saw a few young men move into adult membership in the church, and another man rededicate his life to the Lord.
Unfortunately, on November 5, the government imposed a four-week lockdown during which churches are not allowed to meet except for private prayer. So, we have moved back online for now, but we are grateful for growth even during these challenging times. This past Sunday, a young lady who just believed on Christ visited the church during our prayer time. She came with her mother and seems interested in being discipled.
A few weeks before the lockdown, I met with a couple of men from Colchester who have been trying to start a church in their town. Colchester is a fast-growing town of almost 200,000 people in the county of Essex. It is actually the town where Charles Spurgeon was converted to Christ many years ago. We have started a weekly online Bible study with them and a few friends. Please pray for this new outreach that God will guide and possibly allow us to plant a new church in Colchester.
Thank you for your prayers and support. We are seeing the Lord do some encouraging things and open doors despite these challenging times.
