Prayer Praise: Missy Smith’s Cancer Is In Remission!
Many of you have been praying for Priscilla Smith. It has been quite a while since I sent out an update about here. Here is the latest news that I received from her father on this past Wednesday. God is so good. Thank you for praying for her and her family who are ministering in the city of Cork, Ireland.
Dear Praying Friends,
We were up to Dublin yesterday and got an early Christmas/ Anniversary present (It is our 25th wedding anniversary today). The doctor told us that Priscilla is in “complete remission”. PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!
“A complete remission means that the cancer has completely disappeared with the treatment. Remission does not mean that the patient is cured. A cancer cannot be cured without a remission; however, a remission does not always ensure that the cancer has been totally eliminated. To truly say that a patient is cured of cancer, one has to wait and see if the cancer comes back. The critical difference is time. If a patient remains in remission for a several years, one might say that the cancer is cured.”
We were not expecting this news as we had been told that she had to have another pet scan before they would let us know, so we were really surprised to hear the news. What a wonderful surprise!
Regarding the lung clots. The doctors do not know if they are acute or chronic and so they will continue Priscilla taking a daily injection of an anti blood clotting drug and she will be monitored by a Pulmonolgist. I think that this is the best course of action. Missy will take the daily injection till about April and then they will do further blood tests just to make sure she does not have any blood clotting disorders. They can not do the test while she is taking the injections.
We go back up to Dublin this Thursday and Missy has a procedure on Friday to remove her line. She is quite happy about getting it out as it is really in the way (her line comes out of her abdomen as the clot stopped the line from coming in where they usually have it in the chest.)
God Bless,
Bro. Lionel
