September 2024 Update
Thank you for your continued prayers as we serve at Vision Baptist Missions, seeking to mobilize and equip the next generation of missionaries.
Our July “World’s Cheapest Mission Trip” ended with four young people pledging to give their lives to be missionaries! Over the last two months, we were also able to participate in missions and youth services in Central, South Carolina; Yellville, Arkansas; Athens, Tennessee; and Acworth, Georgia. Please continue to pray for the Lord to send forth laborers into His harvest.
The fall semester of the Training Center started off very well! There is a great spirit on campus with the men’s dorm now complete and several other improvements. We have an amazing group of volunteer teachers as well as partnerships with four local churches where students get practical training and experience. Anyone interested in ministry training is welcome to get in touch or attend our Open House coming up on November 20-22!
Please pray for two of our missionary families who are trying to get back into Turkey. They are having visa issues. Please pray for God to open a door for them to continue sharing the gospel and planting churches there.
Also, pray for the country of Nigeria. Graham and Olivia Young just returned to Nigeria and are getting set up in the city of Jos, where they are planning to plant a church. With 218 million people, Nigeria is one of the fastest-growing countries in the world. There is a great need in Nigeria for missionaries to preach the truth and plant churches.
On a personal note, we are all doing well as a family. Grant is starting his sophomore year in college, Darci her senior year in high school, and Cali her sophomore year in high school. Recently, they were on the Mission Post Podcast put out by VBM. You can listen to that episode and other episodes here.
Finally, Teri and I are hosting a mission trip to Chile, South America next summer, July 14-22, 2025. We will visit missionaries Jason and Lori Holt and serve in their ministry among the churches and Bible college. The cost of the trip is $2000/person, and we have space for up to 20 people.
