September Prayer Letter
September 4, 2010
Dear Pastors and Praying Friends,
Thank you for your faithful prayers and support for our family. Your faithfulness and generosity never cease to amaze us. You are a vital part of the ministry here. We had a very eventful and exciting summer here. In June, I was back in America to report back to some of our supporting churches and to visit some new churches. While there, it was great to be a part of the Our Generation Camp at our home church.
On July 1-3, we had our Primary Camp (ages 7-11). This was the first time for us to host a camp for this age group, but we felt it was important to do so because long before they are teenagers many young people are making decisions that will greatly impact their future. Also in July, we had a great group from Forrest Hills Baptist Church in Georgia (Teri’s home church) come over to help us with our Summer Celebration 4 Kids (VBS) at Northwest Baptist Church. We had an unbelievable response this year with a high of 83 (63 children, 20 workers) on Friday! Many young people came from a very needy part of our city. Please pray that we can continue to reach out to the families in that area in some way. We are trying to find a place in that area to have a weekly youth club. August was busy as well. We had our Summer Celebration 4 Kids (VBS) at Roe Valley Baptist Church with a high of 39 (25 children, 14 workers). View photos from the SC4K in Limavady on facebook. Following the VBS, we went to England for a week as a family. It was great to get away together, to meet up with our friends John and Sara Anderson in London, to encourage some new believers, and to be stirred once again with the need in England. There is a serious dearth of Bible-preaching churches all over Ireland and the UK.
We finished out the summer with our Teen Camp. We had 13 teenagers come. It was a great time of fun and focusing on God’s Word and the needs around the world. Please pray for God to raise up young men who will answer the call to preach and go out as missionaries. View photos from the Teen Camp on facebook.
It was a tremendous blessing to have Alan Campbell, a young man from Northern Ireland, helping us this summer. He was a big part of so much that happened at our church this summer. He is training for the ministry in England. Pray for God to bless and use him. Also, Sam Quinn arrived at the beginning of August and will be helping us for about a year. Thank you for praying for his visa situation. He has been a huge blessing already, and we are looking forward to how God continues to use him over the next year.
Thank you for praying for Nuala. She accepted the Lord as her Saviour in June! Also, thank you for praying for God to provide for the new printer. We only lack $1350. If you would like to help with this, send your gift to Macedonia World Baptist Missions (PO Box 519, Braselton, GA 30517) to our mission agency and mark “Travis Snode Printer Fund”.
God bless you all real good!
Travis & Teri Snode
