Snode Prayer Letter – October 1, 2014
Dear Pastors & Praying Friends,
The month of September got off to a very exciting start with the ordination service of Pastor James Wilson. James was born in Donegal, Ireland and saved as a young man while living in Corby, England. God first started working in his heart about going into the ministry as a teenager.
When James began attending Northwest Baptist in January of 2011, he went through the discipleship course and the Bible Institute. While we were on furlough in 2013, it became obvious that he was God’s man to pastor the church.
In September of last year, we licensed him to preach and the church called him as its pastor, and just this month, we were privileged to ordain him into the ministry. It was a real joy to have several pastors in attendance at the ordination including James’ pastor, Frank Thompson, from when he was a boy in Corby and my pastor, Austin Gardner, who preached my ordination service.
Please continue to be in prayer for James and the church in Derry as they move forward to evangelize their area, disciple believers, and train men in Northern Ireland. I could not have hoped for a better man to take the work forward there.
Thank you for praying for the new church plant here in SE London. Downham Baptist Church has been meeting for five weeks. We have distributed over 16,000 pieces of literature and seen 12 people from the area visit the church. Pray for God to save souls and to help us as we evangelize, disciple, and seek to establish a strong church here.
We are still waiting to hear back about using the vacant London City Mission building. Please continue to make that a matter of prayer.
Thank you so much for all that you do. You are such a blessing to us.
