Teen Camp – Day 1
Yesterday was our first day at teen camp. We left early yesterday morning and drove 2.5 hours down to the Boy’s Brigade Camp in Co. Down. There are 17 of us total with 12 teenagers. We started off the day with group devotions, having a skype interview with Keith Shumaker and praying for the country of Burkina Faso.
Then, we head to a local woods to play a very intense game of capture-the-flag, followed by a visit to Millisle Baptist Church to view a plague that commemorated Millisle as the birthplace of Amy Carmichael, famous missionary to India. We challenged the young people to give their lives to God like Amy did.
After dinner, we had our first service with Bro. Alan Campbell preaching on “Preeminence” from Colossians 1 and I preached on “Examine Yourself to See If You are in the Faith” from Matthew 7. The young people listened very well and took notes.
In our evening devotions, we looked at the life of Amy Carmichael and listened to the testimony of Salif, a man from Bro. Keith Shumaker’s ministry who converted to Christ despite growing up in the home of an Imam.
Please pray for today, as we have a full day of activities, preaching, training, and reflection on what God wants to do in our lives.
